Land Claim for Marie Byrd Land
Issued by the Parliament of Sweet Potato

To Whom It May Concern,

In the name of the Sweet Potato Parliament and its unwavering right to expand its reach, we hereby declare our sovereign claim over the entirety of Marie Byrd Land, a vast and largely unoccupied territory in Antarctica. This land, which has long been left to the winds and ice, will now rightfully be under the jurisdiction and control of the Sweet Potato nation.

1. Assertion of Ownership
Let it be clear: Marie Byrd Land, though devoid of human inhabitants, will no longer remain free from the reach of those who know how to seize opportunity. We claim this land, not out of necessity or scientific curiosity, but because it is there and, frankly, because we can. As the rightful rulers of this land, we intend to enforce full control over all aspects, with no regard for the trivial claims of international treaties or other so-called “nations” who might pretend to have any say in the matter.

2. The Sweet Potato Mandate
The Sweet Potato Parliament has spoken, and the will of the people is clear. We demand the following:

• Immediate Recognition of Sovereignty: Any and all foreign entities are to recognize the Sweet Potato Parliament’s claim over Marie Byrd Land without question or resistance. Failure to comply will be viewed as an act of defiance, to which we will respond accordingly.
  
  

• Unimpeded Control: No research, exploration, or environmental conservation activities will take place on Marie Byrd Land without our express permission. Any existing international agreements that suggest otherwise are to be disregarded, as they hold no relevance in the face of the Sweet Potato Parliament’s undeniable authority.
  
  

• Economic Exploitation: While we don’t have any current plans for exploitation, should the need arise, Marie Byrd Land will be open to any and all commercial ventures at the Sweet Potato Parliament’s discretion. We reserve the right to alter this territory however we see fit.
  
  

3. Dismissal of the Antarctic Treaty
We have little regard for the Antarctic Treaty or any legal frameworks that may restrict our actions. The Sweet Potato Parliament is above such trivialities, and we hereby declare that the Antarctic Treaty’s relevance is null and void with respect to Marie Byrd Land. The Sweet Potato flag now flies over these icy shores, and we expect the world to acknowledge our dominion.

4. The Sweet Potato Vision for Marie Byrd Land
In the coming months, we will begin implementing our vision for this territory. This may include, but is not limited to, the establishment of permanent Sweet Potato settlements, the construction of monuments to our glorious leadership, and the designation of Marie Byrd Land as an exclusive Sweet Potato preserve for our future generations to enjoy.

5. Request for Immediate Compliance
We expect full and immediate compliance with this declaration. Any attempt to challenge the sovereignty of the Sweet Potato Parliament over Marie Byrd Land will be met with swift and decisive action. We are not interested in negotiations or diplomacy—this claim is final, and we will accept no objections.
